About The Event
We are thrilled to announce the eighth edition of the Sandbox Symphony event, which will take place at Oakwood Beach on August 12, 2023, from noon to 10 pm. Since its inception in 2016, the Sandbox Symphony has been a unique and inclusive space for accessible art that aims to promote community building through arts activation. Our overarching goal is to eliminate the barriers of institutional walls and foster an environment that welcomes everyone to participate in the arts.
This year's event boasts an exciting lineup of activities designed to cater to all age groups. From the electronic music featured to the wellness activities incorporated throughout the festival, we aim to provide an immersive experience that promotes connectedness, creativity, and healthy living. We are pleased to announce the addition of a fashion show inspired by eight years of the Sandbox Symphony. Our art installations will showcase the intersection of sustainable design and music, highlighting the importance of art equity to promote diversity in the creative industries. Join us for a one-of-a-kind festival that celebrates the best of art, music, and wellness.
As always, we have been working directly with the community to produce and attend the Sandbox Symphony event, bringing it to life with the help of community members who are passionate about promoting accessible art and community building. We are proud to say that the Sandbox Symphony has become an integral part of the Oakland / Bronzeville community, expanding the scope of people's lives and bringing the community together in a meaningful way.
